Walmart Fashion Finds: 8 Summer Shoes Under $25 + Shopping Tips
The weather is finally starting to warm up here in NY after it snowed (yes SNOW) on Friday. Summer is right around the corner and while it might look a little different this year than we’re used to you’ll still be able to get outside and maybe even throw a backyard barbecue or two, even if it’s just with your family.
I like to shop at Walmart for clothes and shoes that are considered more trendy than classic. They’re things that most likely won’t be popular the next season let alone the next year so I just can’t justify spending a lot of money on brand name things that I’ll just end up donating a few months later.
That being said, things can kind of be hit or miss at walmart. You can find some really great stuff but then there’s also some things that will rip the first time you wear or wash them. To avoid that I’ve laid out some tips and things to look for when shopping for shoes at discount stores this season, that will even apply to online shopping.

Shopping Tips
When I shop for shoes there’s a couple things that I look for that will make or break buying the shoes for me
Comfort
The absolute number one priority when I’m looking for warmer weather shoes is comfort. Typically I’m more active in warmer weather which means I’ll be walking around a lot more than in my winter shoes. No one wants to be walking around with a blister on vacation or at a party.
Things to look for
- Wider Cut Outs for Peep-Toe Shoes
- Elastic over buckle ankle straps
- Platform style heels
Durability
Just because you’re saving on the price tag doesn’t mean you should be sacrificing quality.
Things to look for:
- Thick soles
- No “weird” connections (that will get disformed the second you walk in it)
- Ticker straps and fascinators/buckles

Breathability
Let’s get real for a moment: the more your feet sweat the more likely you are to get a blister. Solution: breathable shoes!
Things to look for
- Canvas fabrics for close toed shoes
- Openings near the arch on sandals
- Heels that have some wiggle room
When it comes to shopping at stores like Walmart things can be hit or miss, but if you know the right things to look for you can get some really great pieces for your closet at prices that will easily fit your budget.
