3 Summer to Fall Transition Outfits ft. My N-Sale Purchases

Can someone please tell me how the heck it’s September already? I swear this August flew by SO quickly, butttt it is my favorite month because my birthday is the 28th! As we move from the summer into early fall, especially here in NY, the weather can be so up and down in one day that it can be hard to put together an outfit that will work with the changing temps.

I also finally got the last half of my N Sale purchases this weekend. While the sale is over, there will inevitably be more sales as we approach the holidays so I wanted to work them into some fall outfit to share with you guys. You can still snag these pieces if you’re willing to pay the full price, which I think they’re totally worth it.

For today’s post I put together 3 summer to fall transition outfits that will take you from the cool mornings, to warm afternoons, into the chilly nights that lay ahead.

Summer to Fall Transition Outfits: Tips and Tricks

The key to dressing for fall weather is layers, layers, layers! A great tee shirt paired with a cardigan or a light jacket is a great go to outfit that’s simple and you can easily take away the top layer if you get too hot. Personally I’d go for a longer pant and a short sleeve or sleeveless shirt as my base but lots of people opt for shorts and a long sleeve top or sweater. It all depends on your personal preference and which one you’d be more comfortable in when it gets warm in the afternoons.

When it comes to shoes I like to go with something more lightweight. The mules that I shared on my insta and in last week’s post are perfect because they’re comfy and still leave a lot of your foot open, but your toes won’t freeze off if you’re sitting in outdoor seating for dinner.

A flat sneaker like Ked’s or Converse is another great option that you can dress up a little or keep it more casual depending on the color you choose and the rest of the outfit. Really like wearing mine with a T-shirt dress and adding accessories like a jacket or a flannel tied around the waist.

N Sale Purchases

This last look features both items I got from the N Sale. Yup, I only got two things. I know that it’s easy to think that everyone is buying heaps of stuff from this annual sale but you really don’t have to. Fall and winter clothes aren’t going any where any time soon and there will be other amazing sales (Black Friday and Cyber Monday anyone?).

I picked up the shoes I talked about last week and earlier in this post as well as these pants from Leith. They are sooo comfy and look very professional at the same time so they’re perfect for the office, or your Zoom meetings. When I was going through the photos for this post I realized I didn’t actually get any photos with the shoes in shot (taking photos on your own is hard okay) but I think you guys get the gist by now.
