SOCIALLY DISTANT SUMMER FUN | PICK-YOUR-OWN SUNFLOWERS OOTD
Sunflower season is here and I couldn’t be happier about it. It’s the perfect time of the year where you have nice warm, sunny days and the laid back feeling of summer but the best season of all is right around the corner.
Last week was my first real week being post-grad. I just finished up my two summer classes, which I was taking as pre-reqs for grad school that just didn’t fit into my degree plan. I have to say not getting ready to back to school feels so weird, but refreshing. I have been spending lots of time trying to enjoy the last few weeks of summer without having to work for the first time since I turned 16 and it’s been great.
This past weekend my best friend and I went on a little socially distant adventure. We started off at Bowman Orchards where they had pick your own sunflowers, peaches and even apples already. There was plenty of space to keep your distance from others and they had a pretty good selection of blooms left. I love to browse their shop whenever I’m there and always end up picking up a thing or two I probably don’t need but is just too cute to tasty to pass up.
Bowman also has a playground and some farm animals that you can feed. We could’ve spent all day playing with the three adorable baby goats if it wasn’t so hot out/had we dressed for summer and not fall. Enjoy this snap I took for insta stories (hence the location tag) of my new goat friend.
Since we had dropped some clothes off at a consignment store that had pretty long wait (I’ve gotten lazy with my Poshmark lately) we had some time to go grab lunch. Keeping with all the fall vibes we stopped at Lakeside for lunch. They also had a small sunflower patch there and since they weren’t for picking it made a much better background for photos so I am not ashamed to say we took even more pictures there. If you’re in the area I HIGHLY recommend stopping by there for cider and doughnuts once September hits.
I brought my Lo & Sons Claremont camera bag out for one of the first times and it fits a surprising amount of stuff along with my camera. I was able to fit my Canon T6i with the kit lens, a 50mm lens and my small wallet, keys, mask and hand sanitizer. They’re having a major sale right now and started offering free shipping so if you’ve been eyeing this bag for a while like I was now is definitely the time to pick one up!
All in all it was a great day to spend outside and catch up with my best friend because the past 12 weeks had been pretty crazy with my summer classes going on. I have lots of fun fall outfits ready to share with you guys but I would love to hear from you what non-fashion posts you’d like to see on the blog! Let me know in the comments below
