Why Start a Sunday Night Routine?
A great Sunday night routine can get you off on the right foot each week. It puts you into the right mindset get back into the work mindset and can help you be more productive Monday morning. I like to include a little self-care with a little weekly planning to set myself up to have a great week ahead.
How to Create the Perfect Sunday Night Routine for Yourself
Your Sunday night routine can be as simple as packing your back for the next morning or include a 7 step at-home spa treatment. It is totally customizable to you and your needs.
A good routine will make you feel relaxed, refreshed and ready for Monday morning. My Sunday night routine doesn’t have anything crazy, but doesn’t always happen on a Sunday. With my work schedule, only working 3 days a week, I find myself having more than one stretch of “weekend” each week. This past week my “Sunday” was actually on Friday.
So what’s actually part of my Sunday night routine? Glad you asked.
- Make a to-do list
- Make a meal plan.
- Clean out my purse and work bag.
- Lay out an outfit for the next day
- Set up my coffee and mug so I can’t miss them in the morning.
- Do a quick clean up so things don’t get out of control during the week.
How to Make Your Routine Sustainable and Enjoyable
The most important part of any routine is sticking to it. If your Sunday night routine is too complicated or too time consuming, you might skip part of it or the whole thing all together.
If that already sounds like you, take a look at the tasks you least look forward to or tend to skip and think about if they’re really necessary. If they’re not or if they fit into another part of your week better, cut them out! There is nothing wrong with changing your routine up, in fact it can make it even better.
If you’re just starting a routine, keep it simple and easy. Slowly add things in as you get into the grove of things and soon you’ll have a full routine you can brag about to your friends.
A great Sunday routine can get you off on the right foot each week. Do your Monday morning self a favor and set yourself up for a kick ass week.
